Hello to all you fellow nursing students, pre-nursing students and all ARCC students! The student nurses association (SNA) wants to say a BIG thank you to all who donated blood on Sept. 27! Thank you also to those of you who volunteered to help pull this off! There were a total of 36 units of blood donated!

The SNA is also now officially under new leadership! We are thrilled to be a part of this organization and looking forward to doing lots of exciting things together and supporting each other in the journey becoming Registered Nurses. Everyone is invited to attend our meetings; you do not have to currently be in the nursing program. The commitment level is whatever you want it to be, there are no expectations from members or those participating in the meetings. Our hope is that you come away with educational support for the nursing program, as well as the comfort in knowing you are not alone in your studies and future goals. PLEASE come and check us out! Keep an eye on the communications board outside the nursing lab for future information and fun events to come. We are always open to new ideas and suggestions. The following dates are set up for the SNA meetings and they will be held at noon in room E241.

• 9-30-2010

• 10-14-2010

• 10-28-2010

• 11-18-2010

• 12-2-2010

We also have an exciting upcoming event being held Oct. 16 at the Isanti County fair grounds. The SNA is going to be participating along with the school in the Box City event. We will be constructing a "box hospital" and gathering donations for New Pathways to help support the homeless families in our five-county areas. We would love for volunteers to help out with the construction, raising money, or performing free blood pressures for the people at the event. We will be accepting donations until Oct. 13.

Every healthcare provider should switch to an EMR solution. Paper based records and prescriptions are a thing of the past now and it would be best for both doctors and patients to take advantage of their features and accessibility.
